Who are YOU?

Why is it that we spend so much of our lives watching people around us and trying to be like them? Why do we try so hard to be a person that we aren’t? How boring of a world would this be if we were all the same exact person? How would we learn about ourselves and about who we are? Can you imagine going to a football game and every single attendee is rooting for the same team? Let’s take it another step further…everyone is rooting for the same team, and your team is losing.

Instead of looking at everyone else and mimicking what they are doing, what they are wearing, driving, saying and being, we need to look at ourselves and reflect on who we are. What is your purpose? Who are you? What makes you tick? What motivates you? What are your values? What makes you happy, and what makes you cry? What difference do you want to make in this world?

I’ve met so many people throughout my life who do not know who they are. Can you answer the questions I posed above? It’s a sad state of being when we take the easy or comfortable way out and copy other people. Is it because we fear the person we are, or is it because we don’t know the answers to the questions above?

I challenge every one of you who reads this blog post to take some time to reflect on who you are as a person. Look at the questions that I asked. Answer them not at a superficial level, but rather take some time to reflect on the question and give yourself the permission to answer wholly. I recommend you do this at a time where you have complete focus and in a place that will foster clear and open thinking.

We are all unique beings and it is this that makes the world a better place to be. Seek to bring something to the table that is different than anyone else. Being an individual is inspiring, exhilarating and powerful. Go out and unleash your inner amazing and be YOU!

I would love for you to share this blog post, so that you can help others figure out who they are.

Thank you for reading and have an AMAZING week!
